Owners can enter the contest for $10 and your pet’s photo is guaranteed to appear in the calendar. Vote for your favorites for just $1 per vote!

Clearwater, Florida -- The Humane Society of Pinellas is looking for that special someone to adopt an amazing pair of dogs.

Sarah, the Chihuahua, is 3 years old and has an apparent neurological disease that causes problems with her eyes and her mobility. Her friend Max, the Papillon, who's also 3 years old, shows her around and protects her. Sarah follows Max everywhere he goes. Max has a big personality to match Sarah’s shy one.

The pair are waiting for you at the Humane Society of Pinellas to be adopted together to a caring home.

Kids' Poster Contest in honor of Be Kind to Animals Week

Pinellas County, Florida -- In honor of Be Kind to Animals Week (May 6-12), the Humane Society of Pinellas is sponsoring a poster contest for kids.

The theme is "What does my pet need to be healthy and happy?"

Entries must be original artwork on regular poster board and can be any media such as marker, paint, ink, crayon, etc. Entries may be delivered to the Humane Society of Pinellas, 3040 State Road 590, Clearwater, FL 33759. All poster contest submissions must be received by May 31.

Pinellas County offers low cost feline spay and neuter program

Pinellas County, Florida -- To help relieve the problem of cat overpopulation in Pinellas County, Animal Services is now offering financial assistance so that eligible cat owners who could not otherwise afford to spay or neuter their pets can have the surgery done at the county shelter.

The low-cost feline spay and neuter program for citizens on public assistance began April 2.

Humane Society of Pinellas seeks teen volunteers

 

Pinellas County, Florida-- According to a recent release, The Humane Society of Pinellas (HSP) is now recruiting teen volunteers ages 16-18 for the summer.

Interested teens should RSVP to one of two information sessions taking place Thursday May 10 at 4:30 p.m. or Saturday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Humane Society of Pinellas, 3040 State Road 590 in Clearwater.
